Can I climb in Joshua Tree with no experience?
Yes, and it is one of the better places in the country to start. Guided beginner days assume you have never touched rock, cover the knots and the movement on the ground first, and put you on real routes the same day. Gear is included on every beginner listing here.
What is the best season for climbing in Joshua Tree?
October through April is prime. Summer climbing happens at dawn and in the shade or not at all, because the rock holds heat long after the air cools. Guides shift their hours rather than cancel, so a summer date is usually an early one.
Do guides provide shoes and harnesses?
Yes. Ropes, harnesses, helmets and climbing shoes come with a guided day. Bring your own only if you would rather climb in shoes you already know.
