Visitors browse what there is to do, then book. Every experience is run by a local operator, not by a tour desk reselling someone else's trip. It is still a real page and still correct, there is just not much on it yet. ## How booking works Listings work one of three ways, shown on the listing page: - Book here. Pick a date and time from the operator's live calendar and pay by card. The reservation goes straight onto their calendar. - Request to book. Send the operator the details and they confirm availability before anything is paid. - Book with the operator. The button goes to the operator's own booking page. The link is theirs, not a redirect through us. On a listing that books here, the operator's rate is what they set and what they keep. A service fee is added on top at checkout, itemized before payment, and never taken out of the operator's rate. Bookings paid on this site can be canceled free up to 48 hours before the start time, service fee included. Inside 48 hours it is the operator's call. A trip the operator calls off for weather or safety is refunded in full. A listing that books on the operator's own site is covered by that operator's policy instead. Adults, families and groups are all served differently by different operators. Age limits, group sizes, meeting points and what to bring are set by each operator and stated on their listing. ## For operators Listing is free. Taking bookings through the site is free. Anyone listed before January 1 2027 is a founding operator and stays free for life, whatever the site charges later. One optional paid service exists: the Experience Joshua Tree concierge, where our team handles an operator's incoming inquiries and books their calendar for them. That is 10% of the bookings the concierge makes, and nothing otherwise. It is opt-in at signup and can be turned off. Operators keep their own price, their own guest relationship and their own reviews. We do not mark up an operator's rate.
